Sangklaburi Songkran, Kanchanaburi 2014

Activity:
“The bridge of faith, the monks walking on the people’s back, Songkran at Sangklaburi” Come and witness the beauty of the Mon’s Songkran. In the morning, the Mon people will put the food tray on their heads and offer it to the monks. Moreover, the people here keep the Mon style by sprinkling the water through the bamboo. On that day, the male villagers will lay down together as a bridge in order to let the monks walk until they arrive at the water sprinkle area. After the water sprinkle ceremony is finished, the male villagers will carry the monks to the monk’s cell.
The Main Activity:
- The biggest making merit ceremony on the longest wooden bridge in Thailand.
- The Mon Style water sprinkle ceremony.
