8th – 12th April 2014
at The Prayalithai Monument and the Srisatchanalai Historical Park, Amphur Srisatchanalai, Sukothai
Activity:
“Sukothai people usually have religious percepts and alms”,
this sentence was mentioned in the Silajaruek (Stone Inscription) in
the section about Sukothai people. This was the cause of the “Oi-Tan Songkran of Srisatchanalai”, the Srisatchanalai Songkran style that was inherited from generations to generations. The word “Oi” when combined with “Tan”
(alms) means offering alms which is the characteristic of the Sukothai
people. Therefore, Songkran Festival here is really worth seeing.
Main Activity:
- The worshipping of the King Tammaracha I and the other beloved Kings
- The Oi-Tan Beauty Contest
- The elephant parade and other parades of Srisatchanalai
